National Lifeguard Training Programme
The Beach Lifeguard Trainer / Assessor Course Following on from the continued success of the BEACH Lifeguard Training Programme and the ever increasing demand, we are pleased to announce that applications for a Beach Trainer Assessor Course remain open. This will enable those persons wishing to train professional Beach Lifeguards, within the industry recognised National Beach Lifeguard Training Programme, to gain the necessary Qualification. Courses are held nationally and are organised over 4 days. Applications are now been accepted. Accommodation may be arranged if required, and information will be sent on request to all Course Attendees with detailed joining instructions. Information regarding course fee may be had by contacting the relevant NTA. As demand usually exceeds the maximum number of places on the course, early application is always strongly recommended, using the attached application form. RLSS Individual Membership, if you are not already in personal membership, an additional fee is payable to cover this.
The Course is
Modular and will cover the key skills and tasks relating to the training and
assessing of BEACH LIFEGUARDS.
Candidates will be continually assessed throughout the course and will be encouraged to develop their existing training skills through Group Exercises and the presentation of training sessions.
Please use a separate form for each applicant (Photocopies are acceptable). Booking Forms must be accompanied by a non-refundable deposit.
Candidates for the course must hold a current (i.e. non-expired) RLSS National Beach Lifeguard Qualification. It is recommended they should also hold an aquatic Full Teachers Qualification e.g. Swim Ireland, ASA, RLSS etc.
Candidates wishing to complete the' Surf Rescue' module should have experience in
surfing and preferably hold the Level 1 Surf Coach of the Irish
Surfing Association (ISA) or equivalent.
Training and
Assessing Resource Pack, Beach Lifeguard Study Pack, Sample Training and
assessing materials, Overhead Projector Slides (Masters on paper). Morning and
afternoon tea / coffee will be provided. Cheques etc. should be made
