TANAGH OEC Co. Monaghan - COURSES FOR 2009 NOW OPEN FOR BOOKING

TANAGH OUTDOOR EDUCATION CENTRE  forms part of the National Vocational Education structure through the Monaghan Vocational Education Committee (VEC).  Tanagh is one of twelve Outdoor Education Centres (OEC) sanctioned by the Department of Education and Science.  All NBLQ courses carry full and practical international recognition and are approved by RLSS and registered through LIFEGUARDS IRELAND.

Tanagh Outdoor Education Centre will also be introducing Two new courses! “NBLQ Renewal Specials” are designed for those who just need to renew their award. This two and a half day course will be designed on the new specialised units of surf lifeguard and rescue paddle craft (Malibu rescue). So this will improve your status to “Surf Lifeguard”

The course would run from the Thursday evening (7-10), Friday (9-6), Saturday (9-5). The assessment would then begin on the Saturday evening and conclude on the Sunday. Again all courses will run with suitable numbers. All applicants for this course must send a photocopy of their card of authority!

The pre-requisites are: - MUST HAVE A VALID NBLQ ON THE DATE OF ASSESSMENT - MUST  DEMONSTRATE SAFE ABILITY TO SWIM  AND SURF IN UP TO 1M OF SURF

LIFESAVING TA COURSES DUBLIN  8TH. - 12TH JULY 2009

Are you involved in and do you teach Lifesaving? Well the opportunity is available to YOU to complete your Trainer Assessor (TA) course in Lifesaving this summer.  The course will be run from the 8th. to 12th. July and will include the opportunity to become a Open Water and Life Support TA

Pre-requisites are - Membership of the Society, Holder of a Bronze Medallion and Life Support 3.

Book now for a one day ( two and a half hours) course aimed at all Mammies, Daddies, Childminders, Babysitters or indeed anyone wishing to learn the skills required to 'Save a Baby's Life' in the event of an emergency.  These course are planned to be informative, relaxed and informal ; with participation by all in using the baby manikins in different emergency situations. 

These course are taken by Martin McDevitt  (A.Inst.SRM)  who is a qualified Occupational First Aid Trainer (NATS) and you can contact him on his mobile 086-3343355 or telephone 071-9852476. Martin, as a parent is very keen to develop this programme and is a senior Trainer Assessor with many years experience.
